“How much will a website cost?” is the first question almost every business owner asks us. The honest answer is that it depends on what the website has to do. A five-page site that shows your services is a very different job from an online store with hundreds of products or a tour operator site that takes enquiries for dozens of trips.
This guide explains what drives the price, what a fair package should include, and the costs that come after launch, so you can compare quotes properly.
The short answer
At 1Solution, a complete business website costs Nu. 25,000 (Basic), Nu. 37,000 (Advance) or Nu. 50,000 (Premium). Each package includes hosting and business email, and the price is for the finished website, not a monthly fee. Logo design, if you need it, is Nu. 10,000.
Other agencies and freelancers price differently, so the rest of this article is about what you are paying for, wherever you buy.
What drives the price of a website
1. The number of pages
More pages means more design, more content to place and more to test. Our packages are built around this: up to 12 pages on Basic, up to 20 on Advance, and up to 30 or a custom structure on Premium. Most small businesses need fewer pages than they think. Home, About, one page per main service, and Contact is often enough to start.
2. Template layout or custom design
A site built from a basic layout is quicker to produce. A custom design is planned around your brand, your customers and what you want them to do, and takes more time. That is the main difference between our Basic package, which uses a basic layout, and Advance and Premium, which are custom designed.
3. Features
Every feature that does work for you adds build time: a booking or inquiry system, an online store, multiple languages, WhatsApp integration, a blog. Ask any provider to list the features in writing, so you can compare like with like.
4. Content
Websites run on words and photos. If your text, prices and images are ready, the project moves faster. If they need to be written or found, that is extra work, whether you do it or the agency does. We offer content writing and editing when clients need it, but we always recommend that the business owner checks the final text.
5. Hosting, domain and email
A website needs somewhere to live (hosting), an address (domain) and, ideally, email on that domain. Some quotes include these and some do not, which can make a cheaper quote more expensive in the end.

Costs to plan for after launch
The build is only part of the cost of owning a website. Before you commit, ask about:
- Domain and hosting renewal. Hosting is usually included for the first year. Ask what renewal costs from year two.
- Updates and security. WordPress and its plugins need regular updates. Someone has to do them.
- Small changes. New prices, a new photo, an extra page. Will you do these yourself, or pay someone each time?
- Email accounts. If your team grows, how much does an extra mailbox cost?
This is what website care covers: updates, backups, security monitoring and minor content changes, handled by a local team. At 1Solution it costs Nu. 9,500 per year.
If you also want the website to climb on Google after launch, our SEO packages start with a one-time SEO setup for Nu. 10,000.
Cheap websites and expensive mistakes
A very low quote is not always a bad deal, but check what is missing. Common problems to watch for:
- The business does not own its domain, because it was registered in someone else’s name.
- Nobody has the login details for the website.
- The site does not work properly on phones.
- There is no way for a customer to contact the business from the website.
- The developer is outside Bhutan and slow to respond to small changes.
Questions to ask before you pay
- What exactly is included, and what costs extra?
- How many pages and how many rounds of revisions?
- Will the domain be registered in my business’s name?
- Will I get administrator access to update the site myself?
- Who looks after updates and security after launch, and what does it cost?
- How long will it take, and what do you need from me to start?
